According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on December 4 that it held a business forum for the next generation of cooperation between Korea and Japan in Tokyo, Japan on December 2 and sought ways to promote investment and talent exchange.

As part of efforts to attract investment, a presentation session and consultation meetings were held. At the presentation session, Korea's leading industries including advanced materials, biopharmaceuticals, and information and communication technology (ICT) were introduced to around 170 Japanese companies looking for investment opportunities in Korea.

Deborah Chee, president of the Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials, said, "I am very pleased to support the establishment of a partnership between Japanese pharmaceutical companies and domestic clinical trial centers. I expect Korea's clinical trials will contribute to the development of new drugs in both countries."

"New business and investment opportunities will spring up when Koreans demonstrate their originality through 'vitality,' which is a unique strength of Korea," said Nakajima Toru, Honorary Ambassadors of Foreign Investment in Japan.

KOTRA also hosted a seminar on human resources with the Korean Embassy in Japan to promote talent exchange between the two nations. More than 100 human resources managers of Japanese firms participated in the event.

Twenty six companies in the new industries such as Amazon Japan and Hikari Tsushin also conducted job interviews with more than 200 Korean job seekers.

"The Korean and Japanese economies were connected through the parts supply chain for the past half century, and the next half century will be the era of active exchanges of capital and talent in the field of new industries," KOTRA president Kim Jae-hong said.
