Science Ministry to Promote SaaS Companies Through Public Recruitment Campaign

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning announced Feb. 8 it will commence a public recruitment campaign for the Global Saas (Software as a Service) Incubating Project, intended to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic Saas companies. Applications will be accepted until Mar. 10.

The Project was designed to support Saas companies from beginning to entry into the global market, including R&D and marketing.

To qualify, applicants must be a small or middle enterprise (SME) or a business venture in the ICT industry. A total of 42 will be selected and supported with KRW 5.85 billion.

Companies wishing to apply can do so through the National IT Industry Promotion Agency website at www.nipa.kr.

Meanwhile, the recruitment campaign is also receiving applications for leading Korean and foreign companies that wish to assist the selected SMEs and business ventures through Saas development and globalization.

To better advertise the project, the Ministry will hold information sessions across the country, first at the Pangyo Techno Valley Startup Campus on Feb. 15, followed by sessions at the Gwangju Creative Economy Innovation Center on Feb. 21, and Dongseo University in Busan on Feb. 22.
