According to Yonhap News,
(SEOUL=Yonhap News) South Korea's major shipyards are scheduled to attend an international shipping exhibition to be held in Norway later this month to showcase their cutting-edge shipbuilding know-how in clean and fuel-efficient ships, industry sources said Thursday.
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. and Samsung Heavy Industries Co. will send their respective delegations to the 2017 Nor-Shipping, one of the global maritime exhibitions, which runs from May 30 to June 2. This year some 1,100 shipowners, shipyards, maritime organizations and other related organizations are expected to attend.
South Korean shipbuilders will embark on an aggressive promotion activity to win new building orders during the exhibition period. Daewoo Shipbuilding will exhibit LNG-FSRU ships at the fair, while Samsung Heavy will focus on showcasing offshore facilities and ice-breaking oil ships at the event, the sources said.
South Korean shipbuilders have been struggling with a fall in new orders amid a protracted industrywide slump.
