(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held a 'Global Business Partnering' event in Washington D.C. on June 28 (local time), a day before the first Korea-U.S. summit was scheduled to take place in the U.S. capital.
Some 100 persons from both countries attended the event, composed of various sessions including for matching businesses, consulting government procurement and bio experts, as well as an open forum for trade and cooperation.
At the business matching session, some 80 targeted consulting meetups took place between 40 global buyers based in North America including SMP and 14 Korean companies.
As a result, Daehwa Fuel Pump, a Korean maker of mechanical fuel pumps for automobiles, and U.S. and Canadian buyers on working together to develop micro parts for next-generation electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, Korea-based software venture Daliworks, provider of the IoT cloud computing platform Thing+, signed a memorandum of understanding with FreeWave Technologies, no.1 in the U.S. in oil refining and petrochemicals, to launch a new solution for the global market.
Recognized for its anti-cancer immune cell treatment technology by the Korean government, Green Cross Cell has decided to conduct clinical trials in Maryland with support from the state government.
Auto parts maker Hyorim Industrial also succeeded in winning a large order from U.S. buyers.
