Seoul to Promote Local Companies at Investment Week in Beijing, Shenzhen

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Seoul City Government announced July 2 that is will be holding the 'China Investment Cooperation Week' in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Shenzhen from July 4 to 7.

The second such event to take place this year, Seoul's Investment Cooperation Week aims to promote competitive small and medium local companies to Chinese investors in China.

Taking into consideration the opinions of external experts from investing institutions and venture capital firms, preference of Chinese investors, and marketability, the Seoul government selected twenty companies in the fields of IT, biomedical, and green technology to participate in the coming event.

Of the twenty, Dot, developer of the world's first braille smartwatch for the visually impaired, and security solutions company Everspin will participate from the IT sector.

Participants from the bio industry include ProtAnBio, developer of a kit that uses blood to diagnose lung cancer, and Zamart Medical, developer of the world's first in-out filter needle.

To help Korean companies receive Chinese investments, Seoul is scheduled to sign MoUs with the China International Economic Cooperation and Investment (CIECI) on the 5th and the Shenzhen Technology and Finance Union (SZTFU) on the 6th for the two countries to cooperate on investments and industrial development.
