Kolon Industries Inc., a chemical and fashion unit of Korea’s Kolon Group, is partnering up with Finnish wireless technology company Nokia to make wearables.

Kolon Industries on Monday said it signed an agreement with Nokia, a global provider of network infrastructure and related service, to join forces in connected fashion business.

Under the partnership, the Korean fashion house will deliver two life jacket prototypes by the end of this year. The two will pursue development of new fabric material to host connected fashion gears and wearables.

The two will establish a joint-venture entity for lasting cooperation.
