(ROME=Yonhap News) The "2017 Korean Week" is set to open next week in Rome, Italy, to showcase various aspects of Korea ranging from culture, art and food to security and business, Korean officials said Friday.
The Korean Embassy and the Korean Cultural Center in the capital city will hold a series of cultural events and forums from Tuesday to next Friday.
They include a Korean traditional attire "hanbok" fashion show, a craft exhibition, a seminar on economic cooperation, a forum on North Korean threats and a music performance featuring Korean percussion instruments.
As the first event, a seminar will explore ways to boost cooperation among the two nation's small and medium-sized businesses, and exchanges of human resources and technology. Korean President Moon Jae-in and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni agreed to boost economic cooperation during their summit in New York last month on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Korean fashion and craft artworks will be highlighted on Wednesday on Korean traditional patchworks by 38 artisans will be on display and hanbok designer Lee Sun-young will show some 60 pieces of hanbok, including one designed with Korean and Italian national flags, during a fashion show.
The next day a forum will discuss North Korean issues and measures to enhance diplomatic cooperation between Korea and Italy. A traditional music concert will be held in the evening.
On the last day, makeup artist Lim Chae-yeol will demonstrate Korean makeup styles.
"We hope many Italians visit the events to learn and feel more about Korea," said Korean Ambassador to Italy Choi Jong-hyun in a statement.
The Korean Cultural Center in Rome opened last October as the country's 10th overseas cultural center.
