S. Korea's terms of trade jump in September

According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) South Korea's terms of trade jumped in September from a year earlier as exports of semiconductors and electronics goods soared, data showed Tuesday.

The terms of the trade index for products came to 162.70 in last month, up 19.8 percent from a year earlier, according to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It marked the highest monthly growth since February 2012.

The index measures the amount of imports a country can purchase for each unit of exports, showing how the country's exports are doing in comparison to others.

In September, export prices rose 29.8 percent from a year ago, while import prices were up 23.7 percent, the BOK data showed.
