According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) An expo for Korean cultural content and products will be held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, this week as part of efforts to tap into nascent markets in Southeast Asia, the culture ministry said Monday.

Some 100 Korean businesses in such fields as beauty, cultural content and fashion will showcase their products at the three-day Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo (KBEE) that will start on Wednesday.

The event is co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and run by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

There will be consulting sessions for Korean export firms and local buyers as well as entertaining events for visitors including virtual reality experiences and live cartoon drawings. Korean content makers, 35 in total, will have one-on-one business meetings with local businesses to seek ways to cooperate in broadcasting, animation, characters and cartoons. Vietnam Television (VTV), FPT Telecom, Malaysia's Payang Group Media and Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) are among the overseas participants in the sessions.

K-pop boy group iKON and actress Song Ji-hyo, well known in Asia for her appearance in popular TV variety show "Running Man," will join to promote the expo.

On the opening night, the "Korea-Vietnam Friendship Concert" is slated to celebrate the 25th anniversary of building diplomatic relations between the two nations.
