Medical Korea 2017, a global conference where healthcare experts around the world share their insights on the recent trend and outlook of global healthcare and medical tourism, will be held for two days from Tuesday at Coex, Seoul.

Under the theme of “Global Healthcare: New Challenges & Insight for the Future,” the eighth annual forum hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by Korea Health Industry Development Institute will bring together government officials, healthcare providers and related industry experts to offer 18 sessions covering a range of issues from attracting foreign patients to taking healthcare services overseas. A job fair for medical tourism facilitators and other positions would also be available.

Government officials from Qatar and Bahrain will meet with their Korean counterparts to discuss state-funded movement of patients across borders and expansion of training programs for medical personnel. Korea will also sign memoranda of understanding with the health ministries of Croatia and Nicaragua to further cooperation in the medical sector.

More than 70 Korean medical institutions would set up booths at the forum to promote Korea’s advanced healthcare services in the global market.
