Date
2017.12.06

According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The World Bank Group said Wednesday it will help Korean eco-friendly industrial complex models expand abroad.

"We will seek a joint project with Korean enterprises and organizations in eco-friendly industrial complexes for the exports of industrial complex models," Park Ji-woon, consultant for the World Bank Group, told a forum at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in southeastern Seoul. "Korean eco-friendly industrial complex models are excellent for developing countries in terms of the greenhouse gas emissions reduction and productivity of the industrial complexes."

Korea has 105 eco-friendly industrial complexes across the country, which recycle industrial waste.

During the forum, Korean experts stressed the need for the country to invest heavily in the research and development of eco-friendly technologies ahead of exports of the environment-friendly industrial complex models.

Roh Hyung-geun of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Korea's top power equipment maker, said desalination technology can help the plant industry make inroads into foreign markets.
