According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Korea has set up an export incubator office in Bangkok to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make headway in the key Southeast Asian market, trade promotion agencies here said Sunday.

According to the Small and Medium Business Corp. (SBC) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the joint support center was opened Friday (local time).

The incubator office comes with office space that can be used by SMEs, with the staff there to provide legal, accounting, marketing and consulting services to companies that require assistance.

SBC and KOTRA said they have 21 incubator offices in 13 countries at present to support SMEs wanting to make inroads into overseas markets.

Lim Chae-un, SBC's chief, said at the opening event that the new office will do all it can to help South Korean businesses penetrate the Thai market.

"The office is not just a place to get support but will grow into a hub for two-way exchanges between Korea and Thailand," the president of the state-run corporation said.

Besides Korean officials and business people, the launch was attended by senior officials from Thailand's industry ministry and investment agency.
