Asia’s largest drone festival to kick off on Jan 25 in Busan

Asia’s largest drone festival Drone Show Korea 2018 will run from Jan 25 to 27 at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (Bexco).

Over 100 participants will promote their products and technologies at 344 booths in the area commanding a space of 13,000 square meters. Globally influential drone experts from six Asian countries will speak on the latest trends, strategies and future challenges for the drone industry.

For this year’s show, a venue will be devoted to demonstrate the applications in public services. The spatial information technology that uses drone data will be explained. The Korean army will participate to incorporate civilian ideas and technologies to improve the combat system of Korea’s specialized military unit Dronebot, which will be created within this year.

Tripard Baptiste, the general manager of drone department at Intel Corp., and Shin Jai-won, the associate administrator of aeronautics research at NASA, are among key speakers.

The third drone festival this year is sponsored by the Busan city government and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and hosted by Bexco and Korea UVS Association.
