KOTRA operates 5G tech pavilion at WMC 2018

According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Korea's trade body said Tuesday it is operating a Korea pavilion that highlights fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks and related technologies at the World Mobile Congress 2018 (WMC) underway in Spain.

The pavilion run by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is represented by 23 local companies and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). Their key concepts are telecommunication equipment, Internet of Things, virtual reality and mobile security, according to KOTRA.

Exhibits include long-range radio technology, one of the core elements of 5G-based Internet of Things, by Contela Inc. Software company Visual Camp is showing virtual reality head-mounted displays (VR HMD) that can be connected to a smartphone.

KOTRA said it has included a VR zone for experiencing the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

The WMC 2018, which opened on Monday in Barcelona, will continue through Thursday.
