(JINCHEON=Yonhap News) On April 24, Germany's Wacker Chemie AG completed its new factory in the foreign investment zone of the Jincheon Sansu Industrial Complex located in Chungbuk.
The company held a completion ceremony attended by 250 people including Chairman of the Silicon Business Division Auguste Willems and Deputy Governor of Chungbuk-do Lee Jang-seop, and officially began production.
Wacker Chemie AG is the world's second-largest silicon maker with annual sales of € 4.9 billion.
In order to make headway into the Asian market, Wacker Chemie AG has invested about KRW 20 billion to build a 13,400㎡ factory on a 47,390㎡ plot of land in the industrial complex.
