According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will host the Consumer Goods Showcase Korea 2018 from June 4 to 5 in COEX, Seoul along with related organizations.

This is the 4th annual showcase and the export marketing event is held to foster the consumer goods industry and link Korean consumer goods companies to the international buyers invited to the event.

The main topics of this year's showcase are e-commerce and digital marketing to provide solutions for the rapidly changing global distribution environment in the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The event will showcase consumer goods, beauty and health, food, fashion, e-commerce and art collaboration products and services from 176 different companies.

There will also be 1 on 1 export consultations among the 1100 Korean companies and 550 buyers from 67 countries.

Also, 20 Korean consumer goods companies will take part in investment promotion consultations with global venture capitalists.

The showcase will also feature programs such as a conference on new distribution channels to discuss the future trends of the distribution industry, consultations for export-related agencies and youth job employment consultations.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the share of consumer goods in total exports is rising due to the popularity of Korean culture (hallyu) overseas.

The export share of 5 major consumer goods, makeup, fashion, household and children's goods, medical products and agricultural and sea food, went from 2.8% in 2011 to 4.8% in 2017.
