K-Beauty Expo Hong Kong Opens as the Biggest Platform for Cosmetics Trade
Date
2018.08.16

According to Yonhap News,

(UIJEUNGBU=Yonhap News) The K-Beauty Expo Hong Kong 2018 kicked off on Thursday to enter Hong Kong's beauty market, the largest trade market in Asia.

The Expo, which is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by KINTEX, will be held until August 20 at HKCEC.

At the Expo, 27 Korean promising beauty companies including 16 of those from Gyeonggi Province will showcase and sell various products such as cosmetics, aesthetic products, hair products, body products, nail products, beauty devices and medical beauty products.

Hong Kong is a promising market for Korean cosmetics exporters in the midst of the Korean Wave.

It is also a test bed where the cosmetic firms wishing to enter the Chinese market can gather the reactions to their products and raise brand awareness.

In particular, the companies can utilize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between China and Hong Kong to enter the Chinese market amidst an eased regulatory environment than by entering the market directly.

Gyeonggi Province is offering various kinds of support to the 16 companies participating in the Expo, such as providing cost support for the booths, interpretation services and transportation services such as free shuttle bus services between the airport, exhibition center and hotel.

"The K-Beauty Expo Hong Kong will become the forerunner of promising Korean beauty firms expanding to the Chinese market," said a province official.

Meanwhile, the K-Beauty Expo supports Korean companies in pioneering new markets, visiting seven countries across Aisa, including Hong Kong.
