K SHOP 2018, the Largest Retail Exhibition in Korea, to Open on 29th

(GOYANG=Yonhap News) K SHOP 2018, the largest retail exhibition in Korea is to be held from August 29 to 31 at KINTEX, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

K SHOP is a retail show where leading distribution companies participate and showcase services, solutions and products every year.

This year's show is expected to have about 160 corporates, the largest number of participants ever held.

At this year's event, conference sessions to see rapidly changing retail trends and innovative technologies and to introduce eCommerce strateties by country for the successful overseas expansion of consumer goods brands will be organized.

The conference will be held from 29 to 30, with the programs under the themes of "Mapping consumer taste along the changing lifestyle," "New retail technologies & strategies of leading brands," "Grabbing opportunities in Asian retail & eCommerce markets," and "Important challenges in cross-border eCommerce and pioneering into new markets."

During one of the sessions on August 29 with the theme, "Mapping consumer taste along the changing lifestyle," The Mall Group, the largest retailer in Thailand, will introduce their strategies that drew consumers back to the shopping malls.

The conference will also invite speakers from Haidilao, which started as a small malatang restaurant with 4 tables and now have manless kitchen technology, and from Seoul Store, which targets the Korean and Chinese consumers and continues to grow.

On August 30, the conference under the theme of "New retail technologies & strategies of leading brands" will invite speakers from companies including LG Innotek to introduce their digital strategy and successful examples of offline stores.

Moreover, Carousell, the biggest second-hand goods retail application in Southeast Asia and Nano-universe, a representative omnichannel store in Japan, will share strategies to operate their shopping malls effectively with advanced technologies.

Also, eBay Korea, operating Gmarket and Auction, the largest eCommerce shopping malls in Korea, Rakuten, the largest eCommerce market in Japan and India, Flipkart, and JD.come, one of the top two eCommerce businesses along with Alibaba, will introduce their strategies to enter new markets.

On August 31, the global eCommerce platforms like Alibaba, Shopee, Amazone, eBay and Lazada will also introduce their strategies to enter and operate the market, and social media marketing strategies customized to overseas expansion.
