(WONJU=Yonhap News) The 14th Gangwon Medical Equipment Show (GMES) 2018 will be held in Wonju, Gangwon-do, the leading region in the domestic medical device market.
The exhibition will be held at the Medical Device Complex Center from September 6 to 7, to support medical device companies to pioneer new markets and expand exports.
The exhibition is organized by Gangwon-do and Wonju-si, and hosted by Wonju Medical Industry Techno Valley, KOTRA Gangwon Support Center and Gangwon Regional Office of the Korea Industrial Complex Coporation.
Including domestic medical device manufacturers and related organizations, a total of 89 corporates will participate in the exhibition.
The exhibition will accommodate 119 booths for 85 companies including 48 from Gangwon, 31 Korean companies and 6 Japanese companies, and 4 supporting organizations.
Korea-Germany International Cooperation Forum for the boost of joint research on medical devices, a groundbreaking ceremony for the 10 m Chamber, Global Business Matching, consulting for insurance registration by Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) and consulting for accustomed licensing are some of the events prepared during the exhibition.
The side events include homecare medical device exhibition for public attendees, health check-up booth and KOICA photo exhibition.
"GMES is would serve as a platform for domestic medical device manufacturers to enter overseas market, and it is also an event which the public can enjoy," said Baek Jong-su, the President of the Wonju Medical Industry Techno Valley, asking for interest and participation.
