GTI Expo 2018 Opens in Donghae

(DONGHAE=Yonhap News) GTI International Trade and Investment Expo 2018, a festival of economic Korean Wave in the Northeast Asian region, has begun in September 13 in Donghae City, Gangwondo Province.

The Province held the opening ceremony in Donghae Wellbeing Leports Town attended by guests including Han Chang-woo, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the GTI International Trade and Investment Expo 2018, Choi Mun-sun, the governor of Gangwon Province and Shim Gyu-un, the mayor of Donghae City.

Marking its sixth year, the Expo will be the largest among the previous GTI Expo and will be attended by 850 companies, 1,000 buyers and purchase groups with 10,000 people from about 50 countries including China, Japan, Russia, Mongolia and Bhutan.

The organizer will support export beginners, social enterprises, community businesses to pioneer export market and provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) opportunities to have one-on-one meetings with buyers.

The Expo will serve as a platform for promoting economic cooperation by hosting events such as GTI Economic Cooperation Forum, Winter Olympics Economic Cooperation Forum, Northeast Asia Women CEO Conference, and Leaders Summit of the World Federation of Korean Association of Commerce.

Moreover, the Global Food Festival held everyday will provide visitors food and experience to enjoy, and the participating companies will sell their products with discounted prices.
