KOTRA to Host Korea-France Business Partnership in Paris

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on October 16 that it co-hosted "Korea-France Business Partnership" event with the Korea International Trade Association on October 15 in Paris, during the President Moon's state visit to France.

During the event, 84 Korean SMEs that are interested in entering the French market in the field of consumer goods, cosmetics, auto parts and machinery had one-on-one business meetings with 200 buyers and investors from France and Europe that seek cooperation with Korea.

The meetings were specified into three categories, including an integrated meeting dealing with consumer goods, machinery and parts, K-beauty meeting dealing with cosmetics and beauty industry, and startup summit related to the fourth industrial revolution.

During the integrated meeting, companies exporting their products to Europe participated actively to expand their businesses to other European countries. The K-beauty meeting drew attention from the local buyers, including L'Oreal from France, Boots from the U.K., and Tanner from Switzerland.

KOTRA signed an MOU on establishment of a startup network with Paris & Co, the first startup supporting organization in France, in order to promote startups to enter the French market.

Moreover, KOTRA signed an MOU with the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development and Paris Region on nurturing innovative startups.
