(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on October 29 that it will hold a Korea-U.S. Automotive Industry Collaboration Forum 2018 in Detroit, U.S.A. on October 30 local time jointly with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago and the Association of Korean-American Professionals in the Automotive Industry (KPAI).
Experts from both countries will identify ways to collaborate between the automotive industry of the two countries to react to the change of trade environment, including the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
Speakers from Korean diplomatic office, ST&R, Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) and the U.S. automotive industry research institute to share the issues in the Korea-U.S. trade policies and trade in the automotive industry as well as the prospects of the industry.
On November 1, Korea Autoparts Plaza will be held at Volkswagen Headquarters in Tennessee, U.S. with Korean auto parts companies and Volkswagen as participants.
During the Forum, 22 Korean companies will participate to present their products and have business meetings. It was held in a timely manner since Volkswagen had an issue of securing auto parts supplies while Korean parts companies were seeking for new clients.
Volkswagen will make presentation on the development trend of the North American automotive research center and introduce their purchase strategies.
