Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2018 to be Held in Singapore

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced that they will host the Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo (KBEE) 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore from November 1 to 2.

KBEE is an Expo that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter the overseas market by using Korean Wave as marketing strategy.

The event was organized to promote export of promising consumer goods and services to the new Southern Countries including ASEAN countries that are currently drawing attention to as alternative markets of the U.S. and China.

The Expo will be attended by 121 Korean companies in the field of cosmetics, fashion, daily supplies, food and ICT.

They will have business consulting meetings with 260 buyers from ASEAN countries including Singapre for two days.

Moreover, five influential SNS celebrities with more than 100,000 followers will promote and sell products of 40 Korean companies in their live shows.

Startup Demo-Day is also organized where the test products and business models developed by startups are presented to the investors.

Korean companies in the field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will meet with about 80 investors and buyers including ACE, the startup supporting organization in Singapore.

"We are expecting that the KBEE would lay the ground for diversified export markets of our consumer goods and active overseas expansion of SMEs and startups to the new Southern market," said an official from the Ministry.
