(JEONJU=Yonhap News) The 13th Seoul International Carbon Festival kicked off on November 14 at COEX.
Jeonbuk-do Province and the Korea Institute of Carbon Convergence Technology jointly organized the four-day event with JEC ASIA, which is organized by the JEC Group.
The JEC Group is the largest information and connection network on advanced materials and it connects 250,000 people in 96 countries across the world.
Under the theme of "Carbon for the Future, from Jeonbuk to the World," the Festival provides various kinds of programs including conference that introduces technological trend of carbon industry, special exhibition hall, experience hall of carbon instruments, Jeonbuk PR booth and carbon art.
The conference will be attended by foreign experts from Germany, France and Japan and about ten scholars to share information and make presentations on strategic approach to mass production of carbon materials.
Carbon products of excellent small and medium-sized enterprises will be exhibited in the special exhibition hall.
Since carbon fiber is 10 times stronger than steel while its weight is only one fifth of that of steel, it is used as a material for products such as automobile, airplane, robot, wind turbine and machine.
The Province is expecting to have 200 participating companies from around 40 countries and 5,000 visitors at the International Carbon Festival and JEC ASIA.
