According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Incheon Free Economic Zone(IFEZ) Authority signed an MOU with Tashkent State of Uzbekistan to promote the development and investment in free economic zones.

Under the MOU, the two sides will cooperate on the promotion of development and investment in free economic zones, dispatch experts, train officials to support the facilitation of free economic zones in Tashkent state.

Uzbekistan created seven free economic zones, and paid great attention to the IFEZ, Korea's first FEZ, to seek for experience of development and investment attraction.

Also, Uzbekistan opened a trade representative office at Songdo International City in August last year.

An official from the IFEZ Authority said "Uzbekistan is pushing for development of its free economic zones by looking to the IFEZ as a role model. We will transfer our experience while cooperating also to attract more investment to Incheon".
