(SEOUL=Yonhap News) On August 26, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced that it will host "Startup Booster", jointly with JEC Group from France, at COEX, Seoul on November 14.

Startup Booster is the leading startup competition by JEC World, the leading international composites show, began in 2017. It will be the first to be hosted in Asia, along with "JEC Asia 2019" during the same period-an Asian region exhibition by JEC World.

Lee Dong-ki, Executive Managing Director of Innovation and Startup Group at KITA said, "Startup Booster will contribute to diversification of import sources and localization of parts, materials, and equipment by stimulating development of cutting-edge composite materials in Korea and Asia."

Ten teams made to semi-finalists will benefit from one-on-one IR coaching by KITA, exhibition booth, special pitching, networking opportunity, and tour to the site of composite materials.

Three winners will be invited to the final stage of Startup Booster by "JEC World 2020" in Paris, France in March next year.

The competition is open in two categories: process including design, manufacturing, industry 4.0; products including new composite materials such as hybrid materials, and new application markets for composites.
