MCST & KTO to promote a digital platform to advance MICE industry

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization announced on Mar. 9 a new public ads for a digital platform applicable to meeting and event technology, in an attempt to further advance MICE industry, an acronym that stands for Meeting, Incentive Travel, Convention and Exhibition.

Meeting technology refers to innovations which broadly encompass all integrated burgeoning technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual-augmented reality or the Internet of Things, to help meeting planners and event participants enhance attendee experience. KTO gives financial supports as much as KRW 140 million to seven separate international workshops and conferences as a testing ground for the technology from this June to March next year. Municipal authorities sponsoring international level conferences or event organizers can apply for the service via KTO website until Apr. 9.
