S.Korea embarked on a senior level trade talks with Beijing to elaborate on bilateral free trade agreement provisions in service & investment segments on Mar. 17. Both parties have joined a two-way video conference in the midst of the coronavirus pandemics.
Prior to the session, Seoul and Beijing had been in sixth rounds of official negotiations to wide open access to service & financial markets, taking turns to hold the dialogue so far. This year, however, two countries agreed to meet in the form of video conferencing due to mounting fear over the widespread of infectious disease.
The trade industry searched for ways to help homegrown businesses further expand into service markets in China and discussed investor protection schemes during the session.
