KOTRA to run a Unic Seller Promotion Project

According to Yonhap News,

Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (abbr. KOTRA) announced on May 20 that the agency kicked off its “Unic Seller Promotion Project”, part of marketing schemes to help startups get into the world’s largest e-commerce platform, Amazon.

The term “Unic” is a compound word putting an adjective “unique”, which refers to being the only excising one of its type or unusual, together with “unicorn”, which describes startups with a value of over UDS1 billion.

To push ahead with the program, KOTRA selected 52 out of 92 potential candidates. Most of them on the list are tech firms, developing AR, ultrasound machines, sensors etc. KOTRA has been running a similar project, “Rocket start”, heling startups and SMEs have access to Amazon. Nearly 114 out of 526 participants have reported to raise as much as USD 960,000 in sales so far.
