According to Yonhap News,

Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) offered a biz-matching service that connects between Korean startups and global venture capitalists.
A week-long web-based fund raising session (May 25- 29), hosted by the agency, led to 96 separate cases of investment meeting to form as much as USD 52.95 million VC funds at the presence of 55 Korea startups, 30 global VCs and 11 CVCs.

Singapore’s fourth largest VC firm, Golden Gates Ventures, French Bio-medical R&D investment vehicle, Eurasante EN, Innovacorp, a Canadian early stage VC, Colopl next (コロプラネクスト), a corporate venture capital of Colopl Inc., a Japanese game developer, and 16 others took part in the event.

Startups at the cyber meeting to find potential investors worldwide varied, ranging from AI-based healthcare solutions, social-venture style remote education tools, 3D mapping service to augmented reality customer experience apps.

Head of Cookielangs, an AI-based language learning tool developer, said “Very nice to join the event. The web-based interactive platform, I think, is an efficient fundraising strategy particularly for early-stage startups as it allows them go over the time and space limit to reach out to global VCs.”

KOTRA is in preparation for the next round of the event to be held in the second half of this year.
