Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) set up a pavilion, introducing Korea’s industry base (shortly called ‘root industry’ in Korean) which has laid foundation for leveraging downstream manufacturing process that occurs early or later on in a production sequence to make parts or finished merchandise such as molding, casting, surfacing, forming and heat treatment. Other local authorities invited also hosted a pitching event, letting the expo attendees learn more on local businesses headquartered in each district.

KOAA-GTT Show opened an online trade fair session through which virtual meetings to help match 130 global buyers from 37 countries that KOTRA invited to local participants took place. World’s renowned auto manufacturers and parts suppliers such as US’ GM and Dormand Products, Japan’s Toyota, and Kirchhoff Automotive Deutschland put their names on the guests list and 60 percent of the global business partners were proved to be auto-parts vendors supplying products largely used for after care service or maintenance from emerging markets in South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Surveying market demand for research and development, KOTRA ran a special corner of the event, called ‘R&D Partnering Zone’ where tech-mentorship programs were available to visitors on site.

The first and second market vendors in Japan, Germany and Thailand also came and forged partnerships to share technological prowess of Korean EV and battery makers. There was a seminar held both on and offline with market specialists from six countries to study industry trends and outlook.
