According to Yonhap News,
While the government has unveiled plans to attract 1,000 overseas talents in advanced industries by 2030 through the "K-Tech Pass" program, a dedicated organization, the Global Talent Center, has been launched to support this initiative.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) on February 17, the Global Talent Center held an inauguration ceremony at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and began its full-scale operations.
The launching ceremony for the "K-Tech Pass Support Agency Council" was also held before the inauguration ceremony.
The Council involves multiple government departments, including the Ministry of Justice, MOTIE, Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and Ministry of Education, as well as agencies such as the National Institute for International Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
Based on the " Special Act on Advanced Industry Talent Innovation" that was implemented in January this year, the Center will comprehensively carry out the identification, recruitment, and settlement support for overseas talent in advanced fields such as semiconductors.
Previously, the government set a goal of attracting 1,000 overseas talents in advanced industries by 2030 through the "K-Tech Pass" program, which includes visa systems and domestic settlement conditions.
The K-Tech program will officially begin in March, coinciding with the introduction of a special visa for talents in advanced industries.
