According to Yonhap News,
South Korea will host the 2025 Conference on International Aviation Cooperation (CIAT) in Incheon this week to promote global collaboration in the aviation sector, the transport ministry said Wednesday.
The two-day event starting Thursday is expected to draw around 680 participants, including top aviation officials from countries such as Egypt and Malawi, and representatives from International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) member states.
CIAT serves as a major international platform for discussing future policy directions and strengthening international partnerships in aviation. This year marks its eighth edition.
This year's gathering will focus on balancing safety and passenger convenience, using South Korea's update of in-flight lithium battery regulations as a case study. It will also explore means of harmonizing various international safety standards.
