According to Yonhap News,

On August 10, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) announced that it will collaborate on joint research and development (R&D) with global leading research institutions, including Purdue University in the United States, Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, and the Steinbeis Foundation.

The Ministry has selected 52 preliminary research projects for the "2025 Global Cooperation R&D" Phase 1, which was introduced this year to enhance the global technological competitiveness of SMEs and startups and promote their entry into overseas markets.

The selected projects will involve strategic collaboration plans with overseas partner institutions, developing research and development roadmaps, and setting step-by-step development goals, over about six months.

From next year, Phase 2 full research will be supported for the projects that prove excellence and collaboration suitability during the preliminary research phase through a competitive selection process.

Park Yong-soon, Director-General for Technology Innovation Policy at the Ministry, stated, "We will actively support our innovative SMEs and startups to enter global markets by expanding our collaboration system with leading research institutions in Europe and Asia."
