According to Yonhap News,

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Bae Young-kyung = Korea's largest capital market investor relations (IR) event, "Korea Premium Weeks 2026," launches its inaugural edition on the 28th. Co-hosted by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and the Korea Exchange (KRX), this newly established event integrates previously fragmented IR activities to maximize synergy, aim to promote the competitiveness of Korea's capital market globally, and establish dedicated communication channels.

A total of 42 organizations—including stock market-related institutions, the financial investment industry, and news media—along with 55 listed companies are participating in the event, which runs through October 16.

Under the official slogan, "Gateway to Asia's Most Dynamic Capital Market," approximately 25 individual programs are scheduled over the next three weeks.

During Week 1, a global conference tailored for institutional investors takes place. Beginning with today's opening ceremony and policy sessions, key discussions focus on capital market reform plans, achievements and future direction of corporate governance improvements, and foreign exchange market reform measures. Keynote congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony feature Yutaka Ito, Commissioner of Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA); Jude Abdel-Majeed, Co-Head of BlackRock Global Partners Office; and Kevin Sneader, Asia-Pacific President of Goldman Sachs. Key executives from major global financial entities—including the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI), Nasdaq, and S&P Dow Jones Indices—are also in attendance.

On September 29, sessions will address critical market issues such as vision and challenges for the "Korea Premium" era, capital market infrastructure modernization (extending trading hours and shortening settlement cycles), and measures to strengthen Kosdaq market competitiveness. In addition, IR sessions feature flagship listed enterprises including Samsung Electronics [005930] and SK Hynix [000660].

On September 30, a tailored program for retail investors takes place, featuring market experts offering guidance on asset management strategies. Week 2 focuses on Kosdaq market activation through diagnostic seminars and corporate IR events for Konex and Kosdaq-listed companies. Week 3 features private financial sector-led events organized by domestic brokerages and asset managers, along with a global bond market forum.

The FSC modeled the initiative after recent trends in major Asian competing markets, such as Japan and Taiwan, which have strengthened investor outreach through integrated capital market IR events. Going forward, the financial authority plans to establish "Korea Premium Week" as a regular annual event.
