Economic policymakers of South Korea and China will hold talks in Beijing this
week to exchange views on global economic conditions, energy policies and other
areas of mutual concern, Seoul officials said Thursday.
The talks will
be held on Friday between a South Korean delegation led by Finance Minister Bahk
Jae-wan and their Chinese counterparts led by Zhang Ping, head of the National
Development and Reform Commission, according to the ministry
officials.
The two sides will exchange views on the latest global and
domestic economic conditions and discuss ways to increase cooperation in such
areas as energy, environment and IT, they said.
This marks the 11th
meeting between key economic policymakers of the two nations since it was
upgraded to a ministerial gathering in 1999.
On the sidelines of the
meeting, Bahk will also meet with Korean business and financial leaders and have
discussions on what support the government can give to Korean firms operating in
China, they added.
