SPP Shipbuilding Co., a South Korean shipyard, said Wednesday it has won a
combined US$210 million worth of deals to build six petrochemical-carrying
vessels.
Under the deals with European customers, SPP will deliver the
mid-sized petrochemical-carrying tankers between the second half of 2014 and
2015, the shipbuilder said.
The company did not disclose the names of
its European clients.
The latest deal came after SPP clinched $470
million in orders for 14 vessels earlier this month, according to the
company.
Last year, SPP Shipbuilding secured orders to build 28
mid-sized petrochemical-carrying ships, more than 50 percent of the global
orders placed for such ships, the company said.
