According to Yonhap News,

South Korea's industry ministry on Wednesday hosted an investment dialogue with Kyrgyzstan to discuss strategies for expanding ties in a wide range of areas, including energy and key minerals.

The event, aimed at exploring potential cooperation for investment, came during a three-day official visit by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to South Korea, which began Monday, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

On the previous day, the two countries signed the Trade and Investment Promotion Framework (TIPF) and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in energy and critical minerals.

"We wish to expand bilateral cooperation in terms of trade, investment, critical minerals and renewable energy (based on the agreements)," Trade Minister Cheong In-kyo said in an opening remark.

A TIPF is a nonbinding agreement designed to enhance economic ties and facilitate cooperative exchanges in various areas.

Kyrgyzstan became the 27th country to sign a TIPF with Asia's No. 4 economy.
