According to Yonhap News,
On February 23, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced that it held the "2025 Middle East ICT Roadshow" in Dubai, UAE, on February 20-21 to support the expansion of domestic information and communication technology (ICT) companies into the Middle East market.
This event was organized to support domestic companies aiming to enter the Middle East region, which is pushing for digital transformation and the adoption of advanced future technologies to move away from its reliance on the oil industry.
The roadshow featured 26 domestic companies with innovative technologies in ICT fields such as smart cities, cybersecurity, robotics, autonomous driving, and AI solutions and services. These companies explored the potential for market entry in the region.
At a business meeting held at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the UAE's largest free trade zone, domestic companies discussed collaboration opportunities for expanding into the Middle East with government agencies like the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA), the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Center (ITC), as well as local telecommunications and logistics companies.
During the event, a total of 16 memoranda of understanding (MOUs) were signed between domestic and UAE companies.
KOTRA reported that Dubai, where the event took place, is aiming to become a global innovation hub. The city has announced a blueprint for artificial intelligence (AI), appointed AI CEOs in various government agencies, and is pushing to establish an "AI and Web3 Incubator" as part of its efforts to transition to future industries.
