According to Yonhap News,
On April 24, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Universidad Autonoma de Chile in Santiago, Chile on April 23 (local time) to establish a collaborative ecosystem for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups between Korea and Chile.
The KOSME explained that this MOU is the recognition of the success of the Korean startup technology-based formal training program, jointly initiated by the KOSME's Global Business Center (GBC) in Santiago and Universidad Autonoma de Chile.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will actively collaborate on the development and operation of programs aimed at facilitating the entry of Korean SMEs into Chile, sharing information to foster and attract investment for startups in both countries, and promoting startup acceleration programs.
The KOSME aims to create success stories of global market expansion in the Latin American market by linking the successful graduates of its Youth Startup School with the entrepreneurial infrastructure of the Universidad Autonoma.
President Kang Seok-jin of the KOSME stated, "This MOU is not just about technology exchange; it is a model of cooperation between Korea and Chile. We will actively support the expansion of promising domestic startups into Latin America using our global network and startup support expertise."
