According to Yonhap News,
South Korea's state-run trade promotion agency said Wednesday it is operating a Korean pavilion at a major U.S. biotech exhibition this week, highlighting the country's bio and pharmaceutical technology.
The pavilion, run by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), features 58 companies in cooperation with five local industrial associations, including the Korea Planning & uation of Industrial Technology (KEIT), at the annual BIO International Convention that began Monday (local time) in Boston.
Participating Korean companies have already held a series of business discussions with global pharmaceutical companies, including AstraZeneca. The event is set to end Thursday.
KOTRA also hosted a special event to showcase Korea's biotech industry, which drew around 500 officials from major global pharmaceutical firms, including Johnson & Johnson and Roche, it said.
In addition, the agency offered consultation services to Korean biotech companies seeking entry into the U.S. market and promoted Korea's new visa program aimed at attracting highly skilled foreign talent to South Korea.
The BIO International Convention is one of the world's largest biotechnology events, attracting over 20,000 government officials, industry leaders and experts from around the globe.
