According to Yonhap News,

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Cho Seung-han = The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced on the 12th that it has selected 60 outstanding companies within the Research and Development Special Zones (INNOPOLIS) as targets for the 'Global Boost-Up' project, which supports entry into North American and European markets.

The selected companies will strengthen their capabilities domestically and receive support for identifying potential customers and conducting overseas Proof of Concept (PoC) through local programs starting in the second half of this year.

This project was first launched last year, and in its first year, 26 PoC cases were linked with local demand sources in North America and Europe.

According to MSIT, these efforts resulted in outcomes such as USD 12.28 million in exports and overseas investment attraction, as well as the establishment of three overseas subsidiaries.

For example, GQT Korea, a bio-diagnostic device company using quantum sensors founded in 2022, attracted KRW 1 billion in overseas investment from a Canadian quantum computing company in January this year.

Coolmicro, a semiconductor liquid cooling company, established an overseas subsidiary in San Jose, USA, last year and attracted KRW 500 million in overseas investment this January.

In addition, Neuracle Science, a bio-company in the Hongneung Special District, attracted KRW 500 million in overseas investment from a U.S.-based venture capital firm in August last year.

MSIT plans to select an additional 40 companies by June this year to support entry into Asian markets, centered on Singapore, by facilitating links for local field demonstrations.

Gu Hyeok-chae, First Vice Minister of Science and ICT, said, "Research and Development Special Zones have strengthened corporate competitiveness through a support system that spans from technology discovery to R&BD, commercialization, investment, and overseas expansion. This competitiveness is leading to achievements on the global stage." He added, "We will actively support enterprises in these special zones so they can grow into global companies equipped with technological prowess and business capabilities."
