The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Ahn Duk-geun) and KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung) will launch the ‘K-Logistics Desk’ starting this year to enhance logistics support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It will be operated at seven major global logistics hubs: Sanghai, LA, Singapore, Dubai, Amsterdam, Chennai, and Mexico City. The K-Logistics Desk will address logistics challenges by conducting information research, monitoring real-time logistics trends, and providing tailored logistics support programs based on the characteristics of each region.

The first support initiative of the K-Logistics Desk is a “Global Designer Fashion Logistics Support Program” led by the Shanghai Trade Office. Designer fashion, known for its unique designer flair, is rapidly growing, particularly among MZ generations. Key domestic fashion platforms are expanding into China, the U.S.A., Japan, and Thailand, increasing the global recognition of K-Fashion.

This program will collaborate with KOTRA's trade offices in Shanghai, New York, Tokyo, and Bangkok to help domestic designer fashion companies expand their markets. KOTRA will utilize its “Overseas Joint Logistics Centers” to offer logistics infrastructure and fulfillment services. With this, domestic designer fashion businesses can receive support across all B2C logistics processes, including inventory management, shipping, and returns.

In addition to logistics support, KOTRA will help boost brand recognition in global markets through platform viral marketing. KOTRA will also collaborate with the Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute (KATRI) and customs firms to assist with essential export procedures, including testing and certification, customs clearance, and FTA utilization. Moreover, in cooperation with leading domestic platforms like Musinsa, Hyundai Department Store, and W Concept, KOTRA plans to identify competitive domestic fashion brands and continuously expand opportunities for their global market expansion.

Jun Choon-woo, Senior Executive Vice President of KOTRA Small & Medium Enterprise Office, stated, “The K-Logistics Desk will not only resolve logistics challenges for export companies but also create new export opportunities.” adding, “We hope this initiative will facilitate smoother global market entry for domestic fashion businesses.”

KOTRA will begin recruiting companies for this program on its website (www.kotra.or.kr) until September 30.
