The Osaka-Kansai World Expo in Japan holds 'Korea Day' Event

On May 13, Korean Pavilion at the Osaka Expo successfully hosted a commemorative ceremony and various cultural events to mark "Korean Day"
Traditional and modern Korean Wave content, such as the Joseon Tongsinsa and a K-POP concert, captivated visitors.
Korea Week, running until May 17, spotlights K-Content, with exhibits on tourism, food, and excellent products.


The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Ahn Duk-geun) and KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung) hosted a series of cultural events on May 13 at the Osaka-Kansai Expo to celebrate "Korea Day".

At 2 p.m. that day, the official ceremony was held at the Ray Garden (National Day Hall), attended by over 350 people, including the government delegation led by Minister Ahn of MOTIE. From Japan, 15 delegates participated including HANEDA Koji, the Commissioner-General of the Expo.

The Korean Pavilion, starting with 'Korea Day', will run 'Korea Week' until May 17th. The event will feature a variety of programs showcasing Korea's culture, technology, and industrial excellence, organized by related ministries and private companies.

The 'Korean Excellence Product Exhibition' at the Expo's WASSE (Exhibition Center) will highlight the latest trends and technologies from Korea. A total of 93 domestic companies and 160 buyers will participate, showcasing B2B and B2C marketing, along with coculsting on the local market entry in sectors such as healthcare, beauty, living, IT electronics, and mobility. The event will continue until May 16th.

Meanwhile, the '2025 Korean Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo' is operating an immersive space with the theme 'With Hearts,' combining cutting-edge technology with emotional content. As of May 13, the pavilion has surpassed 350,000 visitors, becoming a key attraction at the Osaka Expo.

President Kang Kyung-sung of KOTRA, who prepared the 'Korea Day' official ceremony, stated, “We hope visitors enjoy Korea's outstanding cultural content during Korea Week from May 13 to 17,” adding, “We will do our best to foster a friendly atmosphere regarding Korea, which will help to stimulate tourism and industrial exchanges.”
