KOTRA and Gyeongnam Techno Park to Host 'Consultation on Entering the Chinese Aircraft Parts Supply Chain' Starting from 18th
Partnering 17 Korean and Chinese aviation companies in Tianjin, which accounts for 41% of China’s aviation parts trade
Chinese companies have high expectations for the durability and precision of Korean aviation parts.

KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung), in collaboration with Gyeongnam Techno Park (President Kim Jeong-hwan), is hosting the "2025 Consultation on Entering the Chinese Aircraft Parts Supply Chain" in Tianjin, China, on August 18-20.

As of 2024, Tianjin is the top city in China’s aviation industry, accounting for 40.5% of the country's total aircraft parts import and export volume, which amounts to approximately USD 1.55 billion. South Korea's export share of aircraft parts to China is also the highest in Tianjin, at 29.2%, making it a critical hub for Korean companies to enter the Chinese aircraft manufacturing value chain. This consultation meeting is designed to help domestic companies establish a foothold in Tianjin to enter the Chinese market and support the expansion of exports to China.

KOTRA has identified buyers with demand for imported aircraft parts in China, while Gyeongnam Techno Park has pre-matched local aircraft parts companies from Gyeongnam and Sacheon that align with these buyer needs. The goal is to support the generation of tangible business results during the event.

The consultation meeting will feature 8 companies, including global civil aircraft manufacturers like Boeing Tianjin Composites (BTC) and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), as well as 1st and 2nd-tier vendor companies. Nine Korean companies specializing in high-value-added aircraft parts, such as landing gear, composites, welding, and skin/surface treatment, will participate and engage in one-on-one consultations.

KOTRA’s China Regional Director General Hwang Jae-won stated, "With changes in the global trade environment, supply chains in various industries are being reorganized. Through cooperation, companies from both countries can grow together in the aviation industry." He added, "KOTRA will continue to do its best to support the expansion of South Korean companies' aircraft parts exports to China."
