Thanks to a strong manufacturing base, institutional improvements, and efforts to attract investment despite economic uncertainties, Korea's reported FDI last year increased by 3.2% year-on-year to USD 30.45 billion and achieved best-ever results in terms of reported amount. Especially noteworthy are increases in the amount and number of greenfield investments such as factory construction, which are expected to have a significant positive effect on investment and employment.
