THYROSCOPE INC., develops the world’s first digital monitoring solution for patients with thyroid dysfunction and thyroid eye disease to enable them to keep track of the disease progression as well as the risk in their daily lives. Patients with thyroid dysfunction (TDF) – hyper- and hypothyroidism have no alternatives to keep track of disease progression or screen for mild symptoms other than to take a blood test visiting hospitals periodically. Between periodical checkups, patients cannot recognize their thyroid hormonal changes that might lead to side effects and complications. Thyroid eye disease (TED) is one of the typical complications that patients with TDF can experience. It causes the eyes to bulge and leaves permanent exterior and functional impairments on eyes. This is hard to be detected in the early stage as it is diagnosed and treated by ophthalmologists, not by endocrinologists who treat TDF. These pain points continue to be remained for patients due to the absence of tools for monitoring TDF and TED. We have developed unique and unprecedented digital monitoring solutions for thyroid dysfunction (TDF) and thyroid eye disease (TED) based on our own risk predictive technologies. What we discovered for TDF is the mechanism between heart rate and thyroid hormone, so daily thyroid hormone levels and risk of TDF are predicted by analyzing data tracked by a wearable device in real-time. The other novel technology we developed is to predict the risk of TED using machine learning. Our AI-based TED risk level monitoring solution analyzes the onset and progression of TED based on a facial picture of patients taken by a guideline. It takes just one minute for patients to take a picture and gain results, so they can detect the disease in the early stage as well as minimize side effects.
