Jeonbuk's laver exports recorded more than USD 100 million, accounting for 34% of exports

According to Yonhap News,

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) Jeonbuk's agricultural and fishery products exports exceeded USD 300 million for the first time in last year, and laver contributed the most, accounting for a third of total exports.

According to Jeonbuk provincial government on January 22, the export amounts of the province last year recorded USD 318.2 million, 41.5% increase from USD 219.67 million the previous year.

It was the first time to surpass the USD 300 million mark.

Of export items, laver ranked first with USD 106.36 million (34.2% of total). The export amount of dried laver was USD 61.1 million, and seasoned laver USD 45.26 million.

Meanwhile, noodles recorded USD 46.54 million, followed by sugars of USD 15.19 million, chickens of USD 14.27 million, and yeast of USD 12.74 million.

By country, Chins ranked first with USD 67.19 million, followed by Thailand with USD 53.39million and Japan with USD 40.84 million.

An official said "we've achieved this feat due to continuing export growth, recording the highest export growth rate in country for seven consecutive months. We will keep our efforts in managing quality and securing sales network to increase exports".
