According to Yonhap News,

Jeonbuk State has been strengthening relationshops with related organizations and companies since it applied for a "bio-specialized complex" competition by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) last year.

On March 19, Jeonbuk State signed a 4-way MOU with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Jeonbuk State University, and Wonkwang University to foster the bio industry.

The main content of the MOU is about the organizations and universities joining forces for the creation of the bio-specialized complex, fostering global talent, and endeavoring to develop technologies.

Following that, the State signed MOUs with Organoid Science, a specialist in cell culture and recombination, Lambda Biologics, animal-free pre-clinical testing, Wonkwang University, Jeonbuk State University, and the Korea Animal Health Products Research Institute.

The State said that this move is an attempt to conduct joint projects in the bio field and facilitate exchange for the development of animal-related industries.

Jeonbuk State plans to build an 'alliance for the specialized complex' encompassing the industry, academia, and research, promoting joint research and staff exchange.

Jeonbuk's governor said, "We will succeed in attracting the bio-specialized complex and further bolster cooperation with the signatories.
