According to Yonhap News,

Jeonbuk State signed an MOU with the Johns Hopkins Center for Microphysiological Systems (JHC-MPS), Jeonbuk National University, Wonkwang University, among others, to foster the bioindustry.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Microphysiological Systems aims to establish a hub for the development of in vitro 3D models based on stem cells and research on diseases, precision medical applications.

The main contents of the agreement are ▲ conducting international joint research projects ▲ sharing of research data, publication, and information ▲ researcher exchanges.

Jeonbuk State expects that the MOU will play a major role in development of the bio R&D and personnel in the related industries.

Following the agreement signing, the JHC-MPS held a seminar on "Global Organoid Technology Industrialization Trends" and sought ways to foster the bio industry with various institutions.

The Governor said, "we will support the exchanges of local universities and institutions with global leading researchers so that we can secure the competitiveness in the bio industry."
